In Loving Memory of Drew Alexander Black Drew Black, 30, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack, leaving behind a loving family and countless people who will forever cherish his memory. Drew was the beloved son of Andrew and Jerrie Black and a cherished brother to Pearl, Sandra, and Sierra Black. From a young age, Drew was incredibly intelligent, hardworking, and talented. He seemed to know something about just about everything and had a natural ability to figure out how things worked. Drew graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA and went on to earn his General Associate’s Degree in college. He was also incredibly proud to have earned his Eagle Scout rank, an accomplishment that reflected his dedication, determination, and willingness to help others. Drew began working as a chef at the Whiptail Grill while he was still in high school. After high school, he went on to work alongside his father, Andrew Black, building fences for more than 10 years. Drew had a natural talent for building and creating things and could often be found working on one project or another. He recently restored an antique 3-wheeler with his nephew Kashton Black before he passed. He took pride in his work and was someone who could figure out how to build or fix almost anything. Drew lived his entire life on the family ranch; a place he proudly called home. His presence can be found around every corner of the ranch, woven into the things he built, created, repaired, and left behind. His creativity and love for building became a part of the ranch itself. He even used his talents to weld his own snake sticks, and he had boards scattered throughout the property for a reptile insect habitat that him and his nephews would check daily. These little traditions and the things Drew created are now part of the memories that make the ranch feel like him. His presence will live on throughout the ranch forever, and everywhere we look, there will be something that reminds us of Drew. We will also get to lay Drew to rest on this very ranch that he made his home. Drew also had a special fascination with snakes and scorpions and was known by his family as the expert when it came to them. He would always pick a scorpion up by its tail and let it crawl on his hands. It was just one of the many unique interests that made Drew who he was. One of Drew’s greatest joys was spending time with his nephews. He loved being an uncle and especially treasured the time he spent with Kashton, Jaxon, and Cameron. The memories they made together will be carried in their hearts forever. Drew was loved by so many and will be remembered for his intelligence, creativity, hard work, talents, and the devotion he had to his family, and the unique way he touched the lives of those around him. His loss leaves an emptiness that words cannot describe. Drew is survived by grandparents; Ruth Ballard, Ralph Ballard his parents, Andrew and Jerrie Black; his sisters, Pearl Black, Sandra Black, and Sierra Black; and his beloved nephews, Kashton Black, Jaxon Barlow, and Cameron Hammon, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leslie Black, Jacqueline Phillis and Mike Rehm. Though Drew’s life was far too short, the love he gave, the things he created, and the memories he left behind will live on through everyone who knew him. Drew was truly unforgettable, and forever in our hearts . Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at JW Black Memorial Cemetery located in Cane Beds, AZ
