Evelyn Taylor Harrelson

Evelyn Taylor Harrelson, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, in St. George, Utah. She was born on November 5, 1945, in Richfield, Utah, to Joseph Onzel Taylor and Annie Laurie Crossley. Evelyn was raised in Wayne County, Utah, and graduated from Orem High School. On November 8, 1963, she married the love of her life, John Haywood Harrelson. Together they built a life centered around family, adventure, and lasting memories. Throughout her life, Evelyn excelled in several professions, including real estate, restaurant management, and working in the solvent leasing industry. She spent much of her life living in Sandy and St. George, Utah. Evelyn had a deep love for adventure and the outdoors. She enjoyed water sports, motorcycles, dirt and road riding, UTV adventures, and traveling to new places. Her adventurous spirit and love for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Tyffany (Ricky) Proffitt of Hurricane, Utah, and Christy (Justin) Lowe of St. George, Utah; her grandchildren, Ann Marie (Sean) Burnett, Michelle Blair, Amber (Calvin) Gibby, Samantha (Luis) Cortez, and A.J. (Andrea) Lowe; and her great-grandchildren, Alayna (Tanner) Wright, Shayla Blair, Aurora Burnett, Kayloni Blair, Chase Burnett, Dylan Gibby, Reagan Gibby, Alixxander Garcia Lowe, Elias Cortez, Christian Gibby, Aiden Lowe, Julian Cortez, Landen Lowe, and Juniper Cortez. She is also survived by her siblings, Sondra (Clay) Liston and Bryant (Charlotte) Taylor. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Haywood Harrelson; her parents, Joseph Onzel Taylor and Annie Laurie Crossley; her siblings, Ranee Baker, Ed Taylor, Arlen Taylor, Julie Kilgore, Sharrie Somirs, Jerry Taylor, Vaughn Taylor, and James Taylor; and her great-grandchild, Gavin Burnett. A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Serenity Funeral Home Pay It Forward Plan.
