St George, Utah
Jerry LaMar Stout, 76, passed away at his home in St. George on May 29, 2026. He was born on May 1, 1950, in Hurricane to Evelyn and Gerald Stout. Jerry ran the streets of Hurricane, Utah, and graduated from Hurricane High School with the Class of 1969. Jerry loved the great outdoors. In his early years, he could often be found with his friends hunting, fishing, golfing, or doing something crazy in his cool cars. He also had a love for sports and enjoyed playing baseball and softball. He dedicated many years to coaching Little League baseball teams. He married Linda Sue Hall in 1972, and together they had three wonderful boys: Corry, Shawn, and Casey. During their years together, they lived in Hurricane before later parting ways in 1985. Jerry later married Linda Hiatt in 1987 and shared another chapter of life with her until 1998. Jerry was a hard worker throughout his life. He spent 15 years running a press at Moore Business Forms while also taking on side jobs doing concrete alongside his brother, Morrill. Together, Jerry and Morrill poured all the cement barriers through the Gorge, work they were proud to leave behind for generations to see. From 1996 to 2006, Jerry once again worked tirelessly in the Southern Utah heat for Bud Mahas, and later with Darren Bradshaw. Over the years, he poured concrete all across the county and became a true master of his craft. After decades of hard work and dedication, Jerry finally decided it was time to slow down a little, enjoy life, and spend more time on the golf course with his friends. Jerry found a second family at the Elks Lodge, where he was a devoted member for many years. The friendships he made there meant so much to him and became lifelong connections. He loved serving alongside others and was always willing to help with the many community service projects the Elks organized. Whether it was lending a hand wherever needed or cooking food for countless events and fundraisers, Jerry gave his time generously. He is survived by his two sons, Corry (Ashlee) Stout and Casey (Heather) Stout, both of Hurricane, Utah; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Shaun Hal Stout; his parents, Evelyn and Gerald; his brothers, Morrill and Lynn; and his sisters, Alice, Mina, and Francell. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Elks Lodge #1743, located at 630 W. 1250 N., St. George, Utah 84770. A luncheon will follow the service and continue until noon. We would like to thank the wonderful people at Peak Home Health & Hospice, as well as the Elks Lodge, for all they have done.
