Patricia "Pat" Rae Schmidt

Patricia “Pat” Rae Schmidt, 85, of St. George, Utah, passed away after a short illness on July 7, 2026. She was born on January 25, 1941 in Stockton, CA. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Pat married Duane Martin Schmidt in the L.D.S. Hawaiian Temple on January 20, 1960. She loved playing tennis and performing genealogical research, and she was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Pat, affectionately called “Purple” by her loved ones, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Duane; two daughters, Elva (David) and Allison; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Elva Edgar, and her two sons, Glenn Martin Schmidt and Benjamin Duane Schmidt.
