History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

Building on our reputation in the Wasatch Front, we opened the Southern Utah office of Serenity Funeral Home in the Fall of 2008 at 1316 South 400 East in St. George.  In May of 2010 the Cremation Center of Southern Utah was opened as a complementary business next door.  We have been pleased with the acceptance by the St. George community.  With offices in Draper, Orem and Logan, we have become a favorite with families who want to return to Northern Utah or Southern Idaho for burial.

Our Valued Staff

  • Russ Atkin

Russ Atkin Funeral Director and Owner

Russ was born and raised in Cedar City, UT. He choose his career path in the funeral industry in 1999 and has been serving those in need ever since. Russ saw a tremendous need for something different than what was available for those choosing cremation. It was with that in mind, he created the Cremation Center of Southern Utah, an entire funeral home specifically designed for those choosing cremation.

People often ask me, “How can you do what you do?” I always say. “I love what I do.” The truth is I work with the family members of the deceased through some of the most difficult days of their lives. I have the opportunity to make a difference and hopefully make things just a little bit easier for each person I serve. The best part of what I do is the thank you’s and the hugs I get form those whom I’ve helped.
