Amy Eves

Hurricane, UT- Amy Eves, 36, passed away on July 8, 2024, after a long battle with cancer, in Hurricane, Utah. Amy was born March 12, 1988, in St. George, Utah to Jerry & Patricia Eves. She was sister to Justin, Matthew, Amber, Stephanie and Lisa. Amy attended LaVerkin Elementary, Hurricane Middle School, and Hurricane High School. She loved growing up in LaVerkin and had a lot of fond memories of living there. Even towards the end of her life, LaVerkin memories were at the forefront of her mind. Amy struggled throughout her life with mental health. Although there was not a lot of information about this as she was growing up, she worked through it the best she could and didn’t allow that to hold her back! Despite the lifelong battle of her mental health, she never hesitated to offer a listening ear or comforting hug to those in need. Amy’s life was full of tender mercies. One of those being that Amy was a terrible driver. We are so blessed she only wrecked cars (4 total). Should we question Jerry & Patty for letting her drive more after the first one? We are grateful that no humans, animals, or herself were injured during those wrecks. Amy had a zest and passion for life, and she kept everyone on their toes until the end. Her first battle with cancer was during Covid. She had a strong fighting spirit, finished her last cancer treatment, and rang that bell. However, her wondering spirit was stronger, and Amy left soon after her treatments were complete. For many years Amy loved living away from home. We are so grateful for all the tender mercies while she was away- All the many people who watched over her and cared for her. One year ago, her cancer returned. She chose not to do treatment the second time around. We were blessed with being able to love, serve and take care of her. During this time, she expressed so much love and gratitude to her family. It was yet again another tender mercy to be able to spend this time with her. Amy really took to prayer. One particular experience, she started praying while we were getting ready to eat. She yelled out “Dear heavenly father, I’m so thankful for my dad mom and Stephanie for taking care of me. They are such bad A’s!! (insert swear words). Heavenly father, I know you don’t like swear words, but I do, amen.” Amy was truly one of a kind; a force of nature. She was always full of energy and laughter. One experience from this last year that Amy cherished is when mom and dad took her to the St. George temple open house. She had a wonderful experience inside the temple with the Savior and cried and talked about it for weeks after. Amy was preceded in death by her Grandparents: Jack & Fawn Eves & Jerry Williamson. The Family would like to thank Intermountain Hospice, Serenity Funeral Home & all of the friends and family that have reached out in love & support. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13th @ 10:00 at the LaVerkin West Building, 70 S 300 W, La Verkin, UT 84745.
