Angela Jo Jorgensen

Angela Jo Jorgensen, 56, of Salina and Ivins, Utah, passed away peacefully at her home on August 1, 2026, after a courageous 3 1/2-year battle with cancer. She passed away in her sleep, surrounded by the love of her family. Angela was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William Donald Peterson II and Linda Peterson. From a young age, Angela—lovingly known as "Annie Jo" or simply "Ang"—had a remarkable gift with animals, especially dogs and horses. She raised and trained many throughout her life and found great joy in their companionship. Even as a child, she was known for her unique ability to connect with animals. She could gently catch almost any creature and lovingly nurse injured or abandoned animals back to health. Angela loved the outdoors. She was an avid hiker, enjoyed biking and horseback riding, and treasured every opportunity to spend time in nature. She faithfully served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Italy Rome Mission. She also attended beauty school and studied at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. Her greatest joy was her family. She was the devoted mother of two children, Olivia and Oskar, whom she loved with all her heart. Angela was an exceptionally talented artist with the rare ability to master nearly every artistic medium she explored. Her creativity found expression in clay, wire, and bronze sculpture; watercolor and pastel painting; sewing and textile arts; and landscape gardening, among many other pursuits. She generously shared her talents with family and friends, leaving behind beautiful pieces that will be treasured for years to come. She also shared her talents through service. Whether helping with sewing projects, giving horseback riding lessons, cutting hair, caring for animals, or simply lending a helping hand, Angela was always willing to serve. Countless family members, friends, and neighbors felt her love through her quiet acts of kindness and generosity. Angela is survived by her mother, Linda Peterson; her daughter, Olivia Kay Murphey (Kaden); her beloved grandchildren, Bronx and Zoey; her son, Oskar Jorgensen; her siblings, Millie Nikopoulos (George), Ginny Tuite (Sean), Will Peterson (Deb), Margaret FiveCrows (Jeremy), and Dave Peterson (Bobbie); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William Donald Peterson II. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7th, at 3:30 pm at the Salina 4th Ward meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 98 W 400 N, Salina, UT
