Dominic Orlando Vargas

Dominic Orlando Vargas was born to Robert Vargas Sr. and Demetri Robin Murphy on July 25th, 1989, at Riverside County Hospital in Riverside, California. He was the youngest of four children and was commonly known as “Dom” to most friends and family. In 2001 Dominic and his family relocated to Hurricane, Utah where he attended Hurricane Middle and then went on to attend and graduate from Hurricane High School. Dom’s academics always involved sports and with his athletic performance exceeding his peers, Dom soon became known for his passion and skills on the field and court. Many people here today to pay their respects have known Dom since these earlier years and can attest to the all-around fun-loving spirit Dom presented everywhere he went and his ability to make people feel seen and loved. On March 2, 2003, Dom was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints and had practiced regularly since. He loved and respected his church family and held his faith in high esteem. Dom’s love for sports carried over from middle and high school and into the semi pro football leagues where he started as the linebacker of the Saint George Blitz. When Blitz transitioned to Dixie Rebels and then again to Zion Lions, Dom dominated the league and was a key player in the three championships that were won. Dom worked in the manufacturing and production industry but also had a knack for sales and customer service which opened up new positions. Whether on the job or not Dom would make friends anywhere and today is loved my many as he’s touched many hearts in so many different ways. Dom will be remembered for always dressing fly, his inside jokes with his brother Robby, his love for his mother’s cooking, his love for his children and Acia, and for being a sports fanatic. Dom’s hobbies included spending time with his family, playing and attending sports events, working on cars and motorcycles with his father, going (motorcycle) riding with family and close friends, traveling, and attending events with Acia, family, and friends, and celebrating life daily. Dom was a great dancer, able to bust all of the latest moves on the dance floor with confidence and was always laughing and cracking jokes. Dom was survived by his partner Acia Dunn, their son Romeo and unborn child expected in 2024, and his eldest daughter Maya Brielle. Dom’s extended family includes his parents Robert Vargas Sr. and wife Janet Vargas, Mother Demetri Murphy, siblings Jennifer Vargas, Robert Vargas Jr., Dimitrius Vargas, Julie Erazo, and James Schauf. Dom was also close to his nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and especially his cousins. Dom shared an obvious, unbreakable, and deep bond with his siblings through their life experiences from birth, shared secrets, dreams, successes, and milestones. As we say our final goodbyes to Dominic, let us remember the love, laughter, and light he brought into our lives, and carry his memory with us forever.
