Drinda Ann Hansen

Drinda Ann Hansen passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on March 4, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on January 11, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho, to William Dean Daily and Dolly Virginia Hudson. She would often tilt her head with a smile and say she was, “Dean and Dolly Daily’s darling daughter Drinda.” Drinda lived in many places, moving every few years with her brother and parents while her dad served in the military. She shared good memories from being raised in Panama, the Dominican Republic, and then Provo where she graduated from high school. While attending college in Utah, Drinda and Ralph were neighbors while living in the Avenues in SLC. They shared watermelon and game nights that lead to their love and marriage of 60 years. They were married in 1964 and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1966. They lived in Florida, Virginia, several places on the east coast, California and Portland, Oregon, where they raised their 6 children, eventually moving to Hurricane, Utah where they have called home since 1990. Drinda was a professional seamstress. She could make anything with a sewing machine. She also loved to add hand- embroidered beautiful flowers and detail to her creative projects. She shared her talent and love by creating many beautiful handmade heirloom- style blessing outfits and dresses, baptism dresses, Christmas pajamas, prom dresses, and many bridal gowns. She loved wedding and event planning, baking and making treats, sharing her popcorn balls, famous caramels, and holiday candies with friends and family. The gospel played an important part in Drinda’s life. She enjoyed each calling she was given and loved to share her faith with others. Aside from her faith in Jesus Christ, she valued family and friends the most. Service to family and others was a big part of her life whether it was making baby blankets or crocheting afghans, sewing or canning from her garden, she gave and shared in abundance without hesitation or expectation of anything in return. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, teacher, friend, and confidant. She touched and imparted her wisdom on everyone she encountered. Her positive, witty, funny, and gracious outlook on life never wavered. Drinda embodied everything good, kind, and loving. We will celebrate and hold her memory in our hearts forever. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Leslie Hansen (Hurricane), children: Michelle (Robert) Wahlquist of Rexburg, Idaho; Dean (Suzanne) Hansen of Allen, Texas; Anne (Wylder) Smith of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Amy (Thomas) Torgersen of Provo, UT; Lisa (Craig) Record of Manchester, New York; Jenny Hansen Baxter of San Francisco, California; 28 grandchildren and 25 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Dolly Daily, brother William Dean Daily Jr., brother Gordon Bernier, and grandson Adam Craig Record. Viewing and services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, with Family visitation 11:30-12pm, public visitation 12:00-1pm, located at the Hurricane Stake Center, 677 S 700 W, Hurricane Utah, 84737. Burial to follow at Hurricane City Cemetery.
