Francine Ellen Jordan August 5, 1950 – May 28, 2026, With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Francine Ellen Jordan. Francine was born on August 5, 1950, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 28, 2026, after a brief and unexpected illness. Francine was born in Glendale, California, to Charles Warner Paul and Gladys Marie Lewis. She and her sister Charlene spent much of their childhood being lovingly raised by their grandmother, Frances Paul. After losing their grandmother, Francine’s early years were shaped by change and resilience as she and Charlene lived with other family members before making their way to Salt Lake City in 1966. While living with her brother Gene and his family, Francine graduated from high school and began her career as a hairdresser. During that time, she stepped into her greatest role in life when she became a mother, welcoming her son, Mark Brent Hurst, in 1969. A fiercely independent woman, Francine returned to California in search of opportunity and a better life for herself and her son. Life, however, had other plans, and she eventually found her way back to Salt Lake City, where she met and married the love of her life, Dennis Norman Jordan, in 1973. Dennis was not only her husband, but her best friend and partner through life’s adventures. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, welcoming their daughter, Lindsay, and later their son, David. An industrious woman with incredible determination, Francine worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Through hard work and perseverance, she earned her real estate license and built a successful property management company, making a name for herself while forming lifelong friendships along the way. In her younger years, Francine was an avid softball and racquetball player and found great joy riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and adventuring throughout the West; always seeking new places, new experiences, and the next great story to share. The most important thing to Francine was her family. She consistently showed up with love, encouragement, and advice to help her children build their own lives. She loved her grandchildren completely and would do anything she could to support and help them. Her grandchildren knew they always had someone in their corner — someone who would cheer them on, tell them the truth, and love them without hesitation. Francine had an incredible zest for life, a truly generous and giving heart, and a sense of humor that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She was quick with a joke, never afraid to speak her mind, and had a way of making even ordinary moments memorable. She spent her final years living life to the fullest in Mesquite, Nevada, where she made many wonderful friends and embraced every opportunity for adventure. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends, and making frequent trips to Kanab to visit her son and grandchildren. Francine carried the same independence, humor, and love for life into this final chapter that she showed throughout her entire life. Francine had a beauty that could stop people in their tracks, but it was her warmth, humor, and generous heart that made her unforgettable. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to know and love her. Preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gene Morris and Brian Sumsion; and her beloved husband, Dennis Jordan. Her legacy lives on through her children: Mark (Donette) Hurst, Lindsay Jordan, and David (Shana) Jordan; her grandchildren: Maya Morales, Addison Hurst, Christopher Alvarez, Kanyon Hurst, Ashton Hurst, Kingston Anderson, Ashton Jordan, and Wyatt Wilkes; her siblings: Alecia (Dave) Graves, Charlene (John) VanTress, Debbie (John) Gillette, Cherri (Morris) Pratt, and Charles (Dawn) Paul; along with many nieces and nephews who loved her like a second mom. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Jordan Pines Campround located up Big Cottonwood Canyon, Salt Lake City, Utah. We will gather at Ponderosa Grove Group Site with additional parking available at Pinion Day Use Site. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity close to your heart in Francine’s memory, honoring the generous and giving spirit she shared with everyone around her.
