George Jo Maloney

George Jo Maloney (76) peacefully returned home to his Heavenly Father and into the loving arms of his sweet wife LaDonna on June 5, 2025 after a 14 year battle with Cancer. George was the second child born to Nelson and Amy Maloney on November 20, 1948. George married his high school sweetheart, LaDonna Miller on September 10, 1971. They were later sealed in the St George LDS Temple on December 17, 1981. George was drafted into the United States Army from August 19, 1970 until March 1, 1972. George was a hard working and loving man. He enjoyed every minute of his career working at the turkey farm, and could always be found reminiscing about the time spent there. George was a loving father to his two sons Kerry Jo and Bryan. While raising his family, George could often be found fishing, camping, and tinkering on many different little projects. He tinkered on anything from his vehicles to building ramps into every door in their home to help his sweet wife get around easier. George attended school in Richfield, UT gaining an education in Electrical and Refrigeration which he used daily at the Turkey Farm. He was always showing his kids how to fix things. He loved scouting and teaching the boys in the scouts. He spent the last several years getting the sacrament bread every Sunday for all of the wards that attended his church building. Over the last few months of his life, he was so sad that he couldn't provide that service of the sacrament bread as he was in and out of the hospital and rehab center. George enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and his little grand dog as well. He has always had a soft spot for all dogs and has always had dogs in his home. George is survived by his sons Kerry Jo Maloney of Washington, UT and Bryan (Lucy) Maloney of Veyo, UT and his sisters LuWanna Savage of St George, UT and Myree Johnston of Brigham City, UT and two grandchildren Susan and Bryson Maloney of St. George, UT. George is preceded in death by his wife LaDonna Maloney, parents Nelson and Amy Maloney, his siblings, Calvin Maloney and Stanley Maloney, and his grandchildren Paisley, Brysley, Nathan and Nelson Maloney. Funeral services will be held on June 11, 2025 in the Washington 11th Ward LDS Chapel, 446 Mangum Road, Washington, UT with a viewing at 10:00 am and Service at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at the Washington City Cemetery immediately following the services. Military honors provided by the American Legion. Funeral arrangements are being taken care of by Serenity Funeral Home of Southern Utah.
