Jay Newell Frazier

In loving memory of Jay Newell Frazier, who returned to his heavenly home on April 9th 2024 at the age of 82. Born in Marysvale, Utah, Jay's life was a beacon of faith, service, and love. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he truly lived by the teachings of the Savior, dedicating himself to building up the kingdom of God on earth. From his youth, Jay was committed to his faith. He embarked on a mission in Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota, laying a foundation of service and spreading the gospel that would define his life. Throughout his years, Jay served in various callings within the Church, his compassion and unwavering testimony impacting countless lives. Jay's journey of love and partnership was shared with his beloved wife, Dorothy. They were married in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity, marking the beginning of a 57-year adventure together. Their honeymoon adventure took them up the Alcan Highway to Alaska. In Anchorage, where Jay served in the army, they formed enduring friendships and began their family. The family's path led them from Hurricane, Utah, to Grantsville, Utah, due to Jay's job at the Tooele Army Depot. It was in Grantsville where they were blessed with three daughters, and where they built a community of lifelong friends. Eventually, they moved briefly back to Hurricane before setting down roots in La Verkin, Utah, where they welcomed a son, enriching their lives and family story. Jay reveled in worship, fellowship, and the act of ministering to others, embodying the essence of Christian charity. His life was a testament to his dedication to family, community, and the Lord’s work, leaving a legacy of faith and service for all who knew him to aspire to. Though Jay's earthly journey has reached its conclusion, his spirit lives on, inspiring us all to walk in the footsteps of the Master he devotedly followed. Reflecting on Jay's life, from his beginnings in Marysvale, through his mission across states, to the loving family he raised with Dorothy, we see the lasting influence of a life led with purpose, love, and an unwavering commitment to faith. May Jay rest in the peace and love of our Savior, Jesus Christ, until we meet again. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the La Verkin Stake Center, 481 North Main Street, La Verkin, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the same location.
