Jerald Keith LeFevre

Jerald Keith LeFevre passed away peacefully Sunday evening, August 23. Jerald was born April 25, 1941 in Panquitch, Utah to James Jay LeFevre and Betty Jo Worthen. His family moved to Hurricane in his younger years where he excelled in school, getting straight A’s. He graduated from Hurricane High School in 1959, all the while working after school at Clifton's Market. Always being very thrifty he earned and saved enough money to pay for his mission in the Houston, Texas area. Jerald went on to college and graduated from the University of Utah with degrees in Math and Science. While attending the University of Utah, Jerald met his future wife Jennifer Shears at a dance. They soon married and had 4 children, two boys and two girls. He spent 17 years as a school teacher in Fullerton, California. After a divorce he moved to Southern Utah, and later moved to northern Utah. Jerald was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many callings. He enjoyed spending time at Panquitch lake with his family and loved going to Provo, Canyon. Jerald loved to travel while his children were younger, many times exploring the western states and seeing family and friends. Jerald traveled back to California to see family many times in his later years until traveling no longer became possible. Jerald is survived by his children; Jerry, Julie, June and James (Kristin). Eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Loretta Winder (Harlon), Stubblefield (Dennis), James Bruce (Sharrid), David Oscar (Christine),Kenneth Jay (Debbie), Marium Kroff (Joel), Jimmy LaFalle (Debra), Tom Garth, and a step brother Clark Iverson. Jerald was preceded in death by his father James J. LeFevre, his mother Betty Jo LeFevre and step-mother Merillyn Iverson LeFevre, and a brother in law Harlon Winder. His funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sky Mountain LDS Chapel (452 North 2600 West, Hurricane, Utah) There will be a viewing from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at the HurricaneCity Cemetery.
