John L Adamson

John L. Adamson (Jack) Attended his 86th birthday here on Earth and then in Heaven. (WHAT A GRAND BIRTHDAY PARTY). Born on March 24, 1931 in Tooele, Utah Died on March 24, 2017 in Washington, Utah. Born to John Leon (Pete) and Sophia Florence Roweberry Adamson. Jack was the youngest of five children. Donna Craine (Guy), Leola Brown, Raymond Adamson (LaNore), and Ruby Hansen (Garth), all proceeded him in death. Jack married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Marjorie Ruth Cetheroth Buckley on May 6, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jack spent much of his childhood in Jackson Hole Wyoming. He later moved to S.L.C and he graduated from East High School. He worked for Standard Oil, and Blondquist and Brown as a draftsman. He then worked for Holophane as a District sales manager. Together they owned a store in Trolley Square. Jack and Marj lived in Kauaii, Hawaii for seven years, owning a business there and building a beautiful home. In 1985, they moved to St. George, Utah. He became a general contractor and built many homes in the St. George area. Jack was always surrounded by his family, who all adored his soft, sweet gentle character and most of all his very humorous side. Jack was always telling jokes and making everyone around him laugh. Jack taught all of us to be kind and patient. He is survived by: his wife of 67 years, Marjorie; his daughter Sherry Karimi (Abe); and his son John Adamson (Beckie Dunford). Jack had 6 grandchildren who he loved and adored and taught them many valuable lessons in life, among them the secret of fishing and the importance of always having a great sense of humor. His grandchildren are: Damien Karimi (Rachel), DaNae Adamson Burrows (Pat), Alyssa Adamson Gardner (Steve), Shawn Karimi (Lainee), Hailee Adamson McDonald (Anthony) and Tawnee Adamson Robinson (Kyle); and has 14 great-grandchildren. His eulogy, dedicated from all of his family to him would be the song by Josh Groban, "You Raise Me Up". We would like to send a special thank you to his nurse, Angie, from Sun Tree Hospice and Dr. Howard Chamberlain. An open house honoring Jack will be held at John and Beckie Adamson's home on Saturday April 8, from 12 to 6 p.m. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at a later date.
