Michael Dillier Burbidge

It is with love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Dillier Burbidge, who died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. While his journey with this illness was difficult, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now free from the burdens of his mortal body. Michael Dillier Burbidge age 79 passed away on September 4, 2025, in St. George, Utah. He was born on December 17, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Eugene and Alice Burbidge. Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dixie Swallow Burbidge, their five children, Garrett (Amy), Marci (Chad), Ryan (Lynne), Teresa, Angela, 18 grandchildren, and one great grandson. They will forever cherish the countless memories and lessons he shared with them. No one ever questioned the deep love he had for his wife, his devotion to her was constant and unwavering throughout their life together. Mike was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the Eastern States Mission. He loved to serve and supported numerous missionaries over the years by providing them with their missionary clothing due to his special relationship with his friends at Mr. Mac. Mike was truly one of a kind. He was outgoing and social, a friend to all he met. He never knew a stranger and had a gift for making others feel welcome. A lover of cowboy poetry and the western way of life in Tropic, Utah. One of his favorite pastimes was walking the golf course and collecting golf balls, but golf for Mike was about more than just the game—it was about friendship and generosity. If someone didn’t have a good set of clubs, he wouldn’t think twice about giving them the clubs out of his own bag because, to him, it was important that everyone be set up in style. Mike’s life was one of love and generosity. His legacy of kindness, devotion, and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law Allen Larson. The family would like to thank all who supported Mike during his illness and invites friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Sand Hollow Golf Course Rock Bowl Amphitheater from 6:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. Program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
