Patrick Carl McKissick

St. George, UT - Patrick McKissick passed away on August 17, 2014 peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side. He was born on January 16, 1945, in Park City, UT to Marjorie (Greenwood) McKissick and John (Jack) McKissick. He married his wife Linda in Salt Lake City on May 16, 1970. Pat was a Park City boy and grew up in a time when your neighbors and town residents were more like family than mere acquaintances. He still kept in touch with many of his friends and even as years went by, Park City folks could pick right back up where they left off. He was a football star throughout high school and worked hard in the mines until he headed off to University of Utah after graduating from HS in 1963. He put his Park City grit and talent to work throughout his college and football career and established himself as a true football legend. He was selected as All-American in 1965 and obtained many other awards with his fellow teammates. Pat was a humble man that wouldn't share these accomplishments with many unless asked. But if you run across any Utah football fan that is familiar with Pat, they'd be sure to tell you that he truly was a "Utah Man". After graduating with a Marketing degree in 1967, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He then worked as a Marketing Manager in the Beverage Industry and retired from Carlson Distributing in 2007. After retiring, he and Linda relocated to St. George where he focused his time enjoying the sunshine, pickleball, golf and playing bridge. He is survived by: his wife, Linda; Children, Ryan (Jennifer) McKissick, Amy (Mark) Mendonca; and grandchildren; Siblings, Nancy (Gene) Swena, Mike (Jeanne) McKissick, Susan (Steve) Gurule and Kay (Chris) Bird. He was preceded in death by his Parents, and step father, Kenneth Sessions. Pat's family would like to share their gratitude for the wonderful care he received from Alliance Hospice.
