Ray L Williams

Ray L. Williams went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 28, 2023 after a long fight with cancer. We are grateful that he has found peace but he will be immensely missed. One thing you can always say about Ray, he is a cowboy through and through, I am sure he meets all his loved ones with his cowboy hat on. Ray was born December 16, 1935, to Thomas and Lillian (Priest) Williams in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Ray started his life in the town of Ririe, Idaho, then the family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho. Around seven years, the family went to St. Ignatius, Montana, where they stayed. Ray graduated from St. Ignatius High in 1955. Ray had the opportunity to experience a variety of occupations, from working at a sawmill to Boeing, a ranch foreman, to selling insurance. One thing you can say is Ray made the most out of every position and took what he learned with him throughout his whole life. His final occupation was rental business while living in Payson, Utah. When he and Sarann (Dilworth) Byington reconnected, they married in 1999 and were sealed at the Timpanogos Temple a year later. After retirement Ray and Sarann had the pleasure of serving four missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout his life, Ray made every effort to support and be connected to his family. On a good day, you could always find Ray out in his sheds or at neighbors offering support. Ray is survived by his wife Sarann (Dilworth) Williams. His daughter Renee (Williams) Sloan. Sarann’s children: Kathy Byington, Cynthia (George) Halliday, Adam (Kim) Byington, and Juleen (Kevin) Greeff. Three brothers: Jim, Lyle, David, and one sister Ella Mae Kelly. Proceeded in death by his parents: Thomas and Lillian (Priest) Williams. His two sons Ray E. Williams Jr. and Thomas Mark Williams. Brothers: Thomas, Boyd, and sisters Dorla and Dawna.
