Ronald Avery Scott

Ronald Avery Scott was born July 23, 1946 in Beaver, Utah, to Farrell Morris and Mildred Avery Scott. He left this world on Friday, June 9th, 2023. Ron was blessed to live his first five years in Greenville, Utah, on a farm. Ron had a deep love in his heart for farm life. In Ron’s younger years, he enjoyed playing catcher on his Little League Baseball team. Baseball was one of the great joys in Ron’s life! As a teenager, Ron worked for Ken Olsen and Francis Carter on the farm. Farm work was a great way for Ron to make money, as well as learning how to work hard by doing such things as hauling hay, feeding and caring for farm animals and even driving the tractor. Francis Carter was the one who taught Ron how to drive a tractor and care for farm equipment, a very valuable skill. Ron was so proud when he could make his first Levi Strauss payment. Ron often wished he had stayed on the farm in Greenville, Utah. During Ron’s school years, he grew up and attended school in Provo, Utah. Ron fell in love with and married LaRue Chidester, and together, they had 3 daughters. While Ron was married to LaRue, he was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and was unable to work for a short period. Ron and LaRue later got divorced. Ron decided to begin a career in long haul trucking where he covered several states and countless miles. Ron met and married Sandy College and they later divorced. Ron met and married Gwen Jaramillo. Gwen previously had a son named Fred which Ron adopted as his own. Ron and Gwen later divorced. Ron met and married Wendy Bartlett. They later divorced. Ron lived much of his adult life in Salt Lake City, Utah, until he moved to Washington, Utah, which was around 2011. Ron loved and enjoyed his horses and dogs. Ron decided to share his love of dogs by breeding Border Collies. He also shared his knowledge and love of horses by training horses. Ron is survived by his children, Joni (Perry) Jensen of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Ronda (Ron) Bailey of West Jordan, Utah, Kimberly (Bryan) Zachary of Las Vegas, Nevada and Fred Scott of Salt Lake City, Utah. Ron has 8 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. Ron is also survived by his siblings, Val (Becky) Scott, Maureen Davis, Becky (Ed) Dailey, Gary (Kelly) Scott and Rex (Jamie) Scott. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Farrell Morris, his mother, Mildred Avery Scott, his sister, Ruth Croft, his brother-in-law, Alan Croft, and brother-in-law and ex-brother-in-law, Joseph Carter. Services will be as follows: Graveside Services will be Friday, June 16, 2023 @ 11:00 a.m. and Ron will be buried at the American Fork, Utah Cemetery.
