Rosezella Shurtleff

Rosezella Shurtleff 73, Apple Valley, Utah passed away on October 4, 2022. Rosezella was born June 30, 1949 to Jack and Meleta Jukes in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Warren Neil Shurtleff in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple for time and all eternity on June 30, 1969. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a firm faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and throughout her life that never wavered. Rose, recognized the beauty in the world around her. She was a skilled artist, and she shared her talents willingly with her children and grandchildren. There was never a project too big, if it caught her attention, she mastered it.She avidly painted portraits, animals and landscapes. She was a professional seamstress, costume designer, cake decorator. She sculpted pottery, built cuckoo clocks, crocheted and quilted. She fearlessly put together haunted houses to benefit the community and anyone who got to work alongside her. She was constantly keeping her husband busy wood working and building things. They enjoyed traveling together. She loved white water rafting with her father as her guide. She spent many years cooking around a campfire, cave exploring, fishing, boating and photographing nature. She took after her mother in her art skills and keeping her hands busy. Her daughters and grandchildren gladly followed in her footsteps. We all loved just being near her. She was quiet, but strong and determined, never complaining. She was and will forever continue to be an integral part of our lives. She will be deeply missed. Survived by her husband Warren Neil Shurtleff of 53 years, daughters, Lora Rose (Michael) McLaughlin, Lynnette Marie. (Stanley) Szczepanik, Grandchildren, William Colton, Warren Caleb, Kimberlynn Rose, (Wyatt) Fischer. Katie MiQel and Jonathan Michael Carver McLaughlin. Mckayla Rose, Jacob Stanley, (Shay-Lyn), and Joseph Neil Szczepanik. Great grandchildren, Brantley James and Emery Rose Fischer, Raelynn and Noah Szczepanik, Sisters Peggy (Mac J) Hall, Roma (Bruce) Beecroft, Utahnna (Ken-deceased) Rasmussen and Mitzie (Kirby) Bartlett. Sisters in law, Jeanine Bell (Charlie- deceased) and Jan Lassig (Reiner). She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Jean Shurtleff, her parents Jack and Meleta Jukes, and brother Thomas Leon Jukes. Services will be held Friday October 14, there will be a viewing at the Red Brick Church 274 South 100 West, Hurricane, Utah. 9:00am-10:45am followed by services in the chapel at 11:00am. Following the service in Hurricane, Rosezella will be transported to Redwood Memorial Estates 6500 South Redwood Road, in West Jordan, Utah. Saturday October 15, there will be a viewing held there from 12:00pm-1:45pm and a graveside service at 2:00pm. Sincere thanks to the many people who have supported the family during this time.
