TJ Gurulé

TJ Gurulé passed away on Sept. 4th, 2025, at home surrounded by his Wife and Children. He was born Dec. 9th, 1950, in Colorado to Isidro and Margaret Gurulé. TJ married his high school sweetheart, Rosetta Hardy. They were married in the St. George Temple on March 14th, 1969. TJ’s family relocated to Vernal, Utah from Colorado when he was a child and then when he was 14, he moved to Hurricane, Utah. TJ had a love of coaching his sons in wrestling, baseball and football. His team, West Zion, won many Little League All-Star championships. His favorite sports team is the Denver Broncos. He loved to cook with his dutch ovens and made the best chicken and potatoes. For many years, he volunteered for the City Fire Department and did most of the cement work for the La Verkin Fire Station. He also collected donations from towns businesses so that the town could get the “L” and the La Verkin Elementary School sign. He also had a love for paint horses and his favorite horse, “Troubles”, since a colt, TJ trained him on everything. His greatest success was his family. When he went anywhere, he would always talk to or joke around with anyone, whether he knew them or not. He is survived by his wife Rosetta of La Verkin, UT, Kory of Hurricane, UT, Tacey (Danny Francisco) of La Verkin, UT. Koby (Deseri) of St. George, UT. Mindy (Kunia Burnett) of Hurricane, UT. and Joanna (Ernesto Anaya) of La Verkin, UT. He is also survived by Pauline (Glenn Horrocks) of Stella Mo., Larry of Las Vegas, NV., Theresa (Gary Hoffman) of Vernal, UT and Emily Gurulé of Vernal, UT. TJ loved all his 19 grandkids and 15 great grandkids who all he has given nicknames. He is preceded in death by his parents Isidro and Margaret Gurulé, in laws George and Vilate Hardy, his younger brother Tommy Gurulé and his daughter Shelley Gurulé. The family would like to say a special thanks to Summit Home and Hospice, his nurse, Autumn, and CNA, Cheyenne, who he loved to give a hard time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests his Memorial service to be held on Sept. 10th, 2025, at 11:00 am, at the La Verkin Stake Center located at 481 N.
