David Julius Noorda

August 19, 1942 - May 3, 2021

David Julius Noorda, brother, husband, father and friend lived 78 years blessing the lives of those who knew him. Dave passed away peacefully on Monday, May 3, 2021 surrounded by family in his St. George home. Dave was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 19, 1942 to Julius Millecam Noorda and Harriet Amalia Thompson Noorda. He graduated from West High School in 1960. He went on to attend and graduate from the University of Utah, whom he cheered for ever since. Dave married Lucille Ann Christensen on December 4, 1964. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised four children together. Dave served in the Air National Guard for 36 years. He worked as an electronic technician at Hill Air Force Base where he retired in 2003. Dave was an avid runner and completed 19 marathons. He enjoyed hiking, camping, journaling, golfing with his sweetheart at Millsite in Ferron, Utah and walks with his dog, Che. He always had a camera with him and documented the family adventures and celebrations. His favorite (and longest held) calling at church was as Nursery leader. Dave was a devoted husband and dad. He loved spending time with his family and created opportunities for them all to be together. He enjoyed skiing and taught all four kids plus some cousins and friends how to ski. He will be remembered for his love of family, faith, gentleness with all animals, especially dogs, sweet tooth, genuine kindness and huge heart. David is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Harriet Noorda. What a joyous reunion that was! Dave is survived by his loving wife, Lucy, and their children: Michelle (Curtis), Sharon (Chas), Brent (Emily) and Scott (Amy), His brother, Jim Noorda and sister, Sue Madsen, 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The Noorda family would like to extend our gratitude to “our” caretakers: Tasha, RN and Mark, CNA of Canyon Hospice. They did their jobs with love, sensitivity and compassion- we are thankful!! And to the Compton Bench ward(s) in Farmington where our parents lived for 46 years. Thank you for loving and serving our parents! Funeral services will be held on Friday May 7, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 1316 South 400 East in St. George.
