Doris Carr Anderson

April 8, 1935 - January 16, 2021

Doris Carr Anderson of Saint George, Utah, died at her home in the arms of her husband of 65 years on January 16, 2021. She was born in Bountiful, Colorado, on April 8, 1935, to her parents, Joseph Albert and Arline Hazel Carr. She married Robert Lee “Tobe” Anderson on July 22, 1955, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Doris was raised in Colorado and Utah. She attended Colorado State University and Brigham Young University where she majored in dietetics. While at BYU, she met her husband, Tobe. Doris and Tobe raised their family in Arvada, Colorado, and Rancho Santa Fe, California. Doris was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many volunteer callings including serving with her husband who was the president of the Jackson Mississippi Mission from 1991 to 1994. In 2005, Doris moved with her husband to St. George, Utah, where she loved walking with dear friends in the red hills surrounding her home. She was a skilled quilter, seamstress, and knitter and loved making beautiful things for her family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved learning. She loved cooking, animals, children, and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her husband Tobe Anderson and their five children: Mitch Anderson (Judy) Littleton, Colorado; Carla Anderson, Rancho Santa Fe, California; Jennifer Anderson, Carlsbad, California; Russell Anderson (Circe) Atlanta, Georgia; Diane Anderson, Laguna Niguel, California. She loved her 11 grandchildren: Joshua Anderson, Zachary Anderson, Jessica Anderson, Emily Amshel, Jordan Ramos, Christian Ramos, Catania Ramos Carter, Isaiah Ramos, Soren Anderson, Rune Anderson, Story Lehrer, as well as her six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Arline Carr and her sister, Phyllis Carr Shawcroft. She will be loved eternally.
