John Paul Laggis, 88, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, in Parowan, Utah. John was born on August 27, 1933. He Married Jessie Laggis on September 30,1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada. John was raised in New York and Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He Joined the Army because he wanted to see the world. He was disappointed when he was stationed at Niagara Falls which was close to home. He moved to Parowan in 1986 and ran a commercial laundry there. John loved fishing with his brothers. He and Dan loved going to Mexico to fish. John loved to read and spent many hours at the Parowan City Library. His iPad was never very far away. He was very well read and there was nothing local, national, or international that he couldn’t discuss with you. He took immaculate care of his vehicles and enjoyed driving the backroads in Parowan and Paragonah. John loved to drive and almost every year he drove to Wisconsin to visit his family. He especially loved to watch his grandsons play hockey. John is survived by his wife, Jessie and his children, Demi (Ralph) Haval, M J (Amber)Laggis and Luke Laggis who all live in Wisconsin. Grandchildren, Elly, Abe, Cal, Ike, and Gigi and 2 brothers, Stratton Laggis and Dan Laggis. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Kandace Barr, Stacy Barr, Steven Barr and Danielle Devenny and grandchildren Morgan, Jason, Matheson, Georgia, and Keenan. He was preceded in death by parents and grandson Dillon Stein. The family would like to thank nurse Debbie and Nurse Becky for their kind and loving assistance. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 29th at 11:00 am at the Parowan City Cemetery. Interment will be in the Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of Serenity funeral home. Military honors provided by Parowan Veterans and Utah National Guard.
