April 14, 1937 - April 11, 2020
Larry Rex Lynn, 82 of Santa Clara, UT passed away from cancer peacefully from this life to be with Jesus on April 11, 2020 at his home. He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers Robert and Vernon and sisters Helen, Doris May, and Mary. He put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ and was confident in the Lord for his salvation, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him”, Jer. 17.7 Larry was born in Hedrick, Iowa to Robert and Verle (Stroud) Lynn in 1937. The family moved from Iowa to Southern CA where Larry met and married his sweetheart Katherine Hamar in 1959. They were married 61 years and enjoyed a blessed, adventurous life together. Larry spent 50+ years traveling the country hauling freight and retired after 28 years with Walmart Distribution based in Hurricane, UT. During his time with Walmart he earned numerous safety awards and logged approximately 5 million miles. He loved those he met along the way and made enduring friendships that lasted a lifetime. Larry was a loving father, a family-centered man who was intentional in teaching and mentoring each of his seven children to live a life of high moral standards. He was always willing, always sharing, always eager to be fair, always helping, always caring, when in need, always there. To relax, he enjoyed gardening beautiful flowers, taking his boat out on a peaceful lake and fishing, riding his motorcycle, restoring classic cars from the 40’s and 50’s, and vacationing to see his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren spread out across the country. Larry is survived by the love of his life Katherine and leaves a legacy of life in his children Steve (Tammy), Riverton, WY, Lorrie (Rick Fischer), Tacoma, WA, Stacy (Eldon Dehnert), Auburn, WA, Brian (Kerri), Kansas City, MO, Gary (Natasha), Las Vegas, NV, Larry Todd, Phoenix, AZ, Katherine, Phoenix, AZ, 17 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren who love him and miss him dearly. The family will hold a celebration of life in Larry’s honor at a future time once the current pandemic travel restrictions are lifted. The family would like to thank the community for their love, support and consideration during this time as well as Dixie Hospice for their compassionate guidance and care.
