Nancy M O'Rourke
January 12, 1943 - August 29, 2021
Nancy M. O’Rourke passed away in the early morning hours of August 29, 2021. Born January 12, 1943 to Charles F. McCoy and Inga O. McCoy, her 78 year journey began in California, and came to a close in her beloved desert of southern Utah. Preceded by her parents and brother C. Tim McCoy. Nancy is survived by her sisters Patty and Diana, brother Gary, children Charles, Keith, and Valerie, and five grandchildren Madison, Arianna, Charles, Kaelyn, and Kiana. Nancy was a talented writer and storyteller, budding photographer, actor, singer, and piano player. She loved jazz, blues, country music, as well as dancing in her younger years. She was a teacher in many ways to so many people. She is best described by family and friends as funny, loving, generous, radiant, and amazing. She was an incredible lady with grace, intelligence, and boundlessly determined. In lieu of a service, small gatherings for a ‘celebration of life’ will be held. Family and friends are invited to share tributes online at www.serenitySTG.com, and her Facebook page. A memorial tree will be planted in her memory in Dixie National Forest, made possible by Serenity Funeral home of Southern Utah. She will be placed at a columbarium in a special cremation garden located in St George, Utah until, at the proper time, the wish of scattering her ashes can be fulfilled. The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of thoughts and love, and to her medical care teams, doctors, nurses and aides who cared for her throughout her lifetime.
