Naureen (Farnsworth) Swapp
October 4, 1940 - December 26, 2020
Our loving wife and mother, Naureen Swapp of Washington, Utah, returned to our beloved Heavenly Father on December 26, 2020. She was born on October 4, 1940 in Caliente, Nevada to Art and Maurine Farnsworth. She married the love of her life, Glen Swapp, on July 11, 1957 in the St. George Utah Temple for time and all eternity. Glen was her best friend, sweetheart, and rock for the rest of her life (for over 63 years). When Naureen was a child, her family lived in various Nevada mining towns and eventually settled in Las Vegas, where she experienced her teenage years at Rancho High School, where she was a Majorette in the high school dance club. Glen and Naureen lived and raised their four children in Southern Nevada and in Southern Utah. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Always thinking of her family, she was truly the cornerstone of her family. She created wonderful memories for her family through traditions, celebrations, birthdays, and holidays. She loved hugs and cherished being called “Grandma.” Naureen followed her husband’s work as a heavy-haul truck driver. She even started her own pilot car business, which she called PPAWS Pilot Car. (PPAWS is Swapp spelled backwards.) She successfully ran this business for about 10 years and even obtained a Commercial Driver’s License. Naureen always noticed other people’s needs and with a heart of charity would reach out to help. Family, friends, and strangers alike experienced her kindness. She truly was an example of unconditional love. Naureen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many positions: as a teacher in Primary and in Relief Society, as a chorister, and in a Relief Society presidency. She was always willing to help wherever the need arose. Naureen is loved and missed by her husband, Glen Swapp; children Steve Swapp, Sherrena Young, Sue Swapp, and Mike and Rachel Swapp; as well as 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and counting. Naureen has three married brothers: Larry (deceased) & Marolyn Farnsworth, Darwin & Kathy (deceased) Farnsworth, and Wayne & Sandy Farnsworth as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank Victor and Carlos Contreras for the incredible caring and professional service that they provided in their private in-home nursing service, both to Mom and to us. We are also thankful for the hospice services provided by Intermountain Homecare & Hospice. The funeral service for Naureen Swapp will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 600 E. Telegraph Street in Washington, Utah at 10:00 am MST on Saturday, January 2, 2021, with the viewing beginning at 8:30 am MST and the interment in the Pioneer Hill Cemetery in Overton, Nevada at 1:30 pm PST. (Note the time zone difference.) The funeral service will be livestreamed and recorded, and COVID-19 safeguards will be employed at the church. Friends and family are invited to share written, audio, and video messages via e-mail at [email protected] or to send postal mail to Glen Swapp, 627 E. Spring Hill Drive, Washington, UT 84780.
