Alice Morgan

Alice Morgan passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at the age of 87, of natural causes in Washington, Utah. She was born on March 30, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, to Albert and Dolly McCarthy. Alice moved with her family from Illinois to California when she was around five years old. She grew up there and later met the love of her life, Russell Ivan Morgan, Jr. They married in 1955 and shared a loving relationship of more than 65 years before Russell preceded her in death in 2021. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, music, television shows and love for their family. Alice spent her early adult years working as a librarian, where she enjoyed engaging with students and sharing her love of learning. A lifelong learner herself, she was endlessly curious about a wide variety of subjects, often reading textbooks or her children’s schoolbooks just for the joy of learning. She also enjoyed taking college courses. A talented artist and creative soul, Alice loved baking, sewing, and crafting with her grandchildren—always encouraging imagination and self-expression. After moving to Boise Idaho in 1994 with her husband, daughter, and grandson, she spent time volunteering at the Boise Elks Rehabilitation Center. She also loved playing cards, especially Canasta, and enjoyed the fun that came with it. Alice’s strong will and resilience served her well throughout her life as she faced ongoing health challenges with courage. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her son, Steve; her parents, Albert and Dolly McCarthy; her sister, Sue; and her brother, Denny. She is survived by her sisters, Bonnie (Joe), and Pat; her children, Dan (Cindy), Bill (Manoah), and Jenny (John); grandchildren, Jessica (Maria), Daniel (Renee), Kelsey (Ryan) and Michael (Shaylee), and great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Lyra, Cassandra, Roman, and Porter. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Ovation Sienna Hills and Canyon Home Health & Hospice, whose love and kindness meant so much to Alice and her family. In accordance with Alice’s wishes, there will not be a funeral. A short committal service will be held on November 13th at 1:00 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd, Boise, Idaho.
