Allan Dale Robinson

Allan Dale Robinson, age 88, passed away from Stage IV colon cancer on March 17, 2026. Dale, as everyone knew him, was born February 1, 1938, to Chester Robb and Irene Lamoreaux Robinson in Cedar City, Utah. Dale spent his childhood in Paragonah, graduating from Parowan High School, where he was active in FFA and football. He was an adventurous boy who loved the outdoors. He was his grandpa Ellis’s shadow, following him everywhere. He even built his own small log structure as his getaway place near Willow. He married Delores Thornton on November 7, 1955, in Fredonia, Arizona. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were married for 66 years. Dale worked various jobs to provide for his family. Work took them to Seattle, Provo, Salt Lake City, Chicago, and back to Paragonah to run the family farm after his grandfather and his brother Ron passed away. Some of his jobs included working for Boeing, Boise-Cascade Paper Products, as a farmer/rancher and a Big Rig Driver. He enjoyed the beauty of the mountains, especially Horse Valley, where his ancestors had homesteaded. He spent many days each summer checking on livestock, repairing fences, and just enjoying being in the mountains. He loved to hunt and fish. He served on the Paragonah Canal Company board for several years. He owned several mining claims. He had an endless passion for the Old Spanish Trail markers. He spent many hours photographing and documenting these markers. Dale was an avid reader. His love for reading gave him key insights into life, being able to converse with anyone on almost any topic. He supported his children and grandchildren to carve their own path and enjoy it. Dale was very generous and helped people anonymously. He is survived by his children, David Allan (Dianna) Robinson, Debra (Steven) Barton, Quinten Ellen (Jesse Scott) Robb, Lori Ann (David) Hulet, and special adopted daughter, Julie Molter (Lee Kanne), fourteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, and his sister, Cleo Edwards. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores Thornton Robinson, his parents, and brothers Elmo C. (Bud) Robinson and Ronald Lamoreaux Robinson. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 am in the Paragonah Ward Chapel. Viewing will be on Friday, March 20, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, and Saturday, March 21, at 9:00 - 10:00 prior to services. Interment will be at the Paragonah Cemetery following the services.
