Andrew Lee Colvin

St. George City, UT - Andrew Lee Colvin, our beloved brother, son, husband, and loving friend left the embrace of his family on February 11th, 2025, after complications from a medical procedure. He was 60 years old and brought great joy to us all during that time through both the good times and the challenging ones. We will miss him dearly. Andrew was born on December 28th, 1964, in Ogden, Utah to Bobby Wallace Colvin and Marilyn Ruth Brown. He grew up in Weber County and thrived with the love and guidance of his parents who were both amazing teachers. He was a gentle quiet man who cared deeply and loved fiercely. He was a very talented, creative decorator with a knack for enriching the lives of those he loved. In high school and college, he developed a love for theater and acting and performed in several plays and productions. He came alive and stole the show in every production he was in, often with his beautiful booming singing voice that was astounding. He had a quirky sense of humor and was a natural mimic to always keep us smiling. He spent time with the Shakespeare Theatre in Cedar City in 1984 and made many friends sharing his love for movies, theater, and drama throughout the rest of his life. He was also talented at clerking, record keeping, and accounting and worked for several companies including in the airline industry and banking. He loved travelling, having taken several trips to Europe beginning with his mission to Scotland. On October 27th, 2015, he was able to marry his longtime companion Trase Mac Taggart. Though their paths had crossed before, they found each other and loved and supported each other together since 2000. Through thick and thin, good times and bad, they experienced it together and gave each other strength and joy. We thank Andrew and Trase for their willingness to help provide loving care and companionship for Andrew’s elderly father. Andrew leaves behind his husband, Trase Taggart, father Bob Colvin, his sister Sue Colvin Bachmann (Ric), his brothers Matthew Colvin, Robert (Suzanne) Colvin, and Brett Colvin (Natalie Scott), his 8 nieces and nephews as well as their 12 children. Andrew was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Colvin. Until we meet again beloved Andrew. The family would like to thank all the first responders, doctors, nurses, and social workers who were there for us in our great time of need.
