Bill Becker

Central, UT – Bill Becker, age 80, passed away on April 2, 2018, in St. George, Utah. Bill was born on December 6, 1937, in Montrose, Colorado, to Fred Becker and Agnes Clark Becker. He graduated in 1956 from Montrose High School, and attended the University of Northern Colorado where he majored in music. Bill served in the United States Army, and eventually settled with his family in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1965. Bill worked as a Soils Technician and Safety Inspector at the Nevada Test Site for more than 30 years. Bill and his wife, Myrna, retired to the community of Central, Utah, in the 1990’s where they made many friends and became involved with the Central Fire Department. Bill served as the Department’s Captain for several years before stepping down to enjoy more time with his family. Bill enjoyed camping in the mountains of Utah and was a huge sports fan – especially college sports and rodeo competitions. Bill is preceded in death by: his parents, Fred and Agnes, and his beloved wife of 30 years, Myrna Becker. Bill is survived by: his brother Howard “Bud” Becker (Linda); daughter, Wendy Feiner (John), son, Todd Becker (Karyn); step-children Tony Marrs (Cheryl), Tina Kanie (Keith), Tod Marrs (Suzan Baucum), Trace Marrs (Lori), and Tami DeVore (Dave); niece, Jamie Turner (Kai); grandchildren Sam Feiner, Travis Feiner, Breanna Becker, Cole Becker, Kim Kanie, Katie Rubio, Trisha Castillo, Kristi DeVore, Chase Marrs, Ryan Ebel, Jordan Ebel, Cameron Jorgenson, Morgan Vanetti, and Grace Vanetti; as well as nine great-grandchildren and fur-baby, Teddie. The family wishes to thank the Cook, Stucki, and Bowler families of Central, Utah for their friendship to our father through the years since Myrna’s passing. A special and heartfelt thank you to the staff of Bella Terra St. George for the care and compassion extended during this brief but difficult time. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 28th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Central Fire Station located at 155 E. Center Street, Central, Utah.
