St George, Utah
Brett Alan Coverston was born February 13, 1977, to Scott and Karon Coverston in St. George, Utah, where he joined his siblings Travis and Jennifer. Shortly after he was born his family moved to the Salt Lake Valley where he spent much of his life. Brett grew up in West Valley City. He spent most of his time outside playing sports with whoever was available. But especially the Seaman family and Francom’s and all the kids that lived in the Bar-M-Circle cul-de-sac. Brett graduated from Hunter High; from there he worked a variety of jobs throughout his life. His greatest love was all things sports. He was a lover of the Utah Grizzlies, Utah Jazz, Miami Dolphins, and most of all University of Utah Football. There was not a day that you wouldn’t see him in one of his jersey’s repping one of his favorites. His loyalty and passion for his teams were unmatched and something we should all admire. He absolutely loved WWE and If he wasn’t out watching one of his teams he was catching a wrestling match on TV. Outside of sports he loved Star Wars and The Simpsons. If the Simpsons were on you would most definitely hear the best laugh ever, which was surprising because he was so quiet. Brett loved his family, he was a sweet, kind, calm son, brother and uncle. He was a man of few words, but when he was talking it was about something important or something he loved. Brett is survived by his parents Scott and Karon Coverston, siblings, Travis, Jennifer and Emily Lyman. His nieces and nephews Haylee Mortenson (Hylun Mortenson), Chase Lyman, Jackson Lyman, Aly Lyman and Brooks Lyman. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jerry and Elna Coverston and Lester and Mildred Stebbins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS Chapel located at 320 N 3400 W, Hurricane, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the same location.
