Carole Ann Ketterer

My sweet Mom passed away July 24, 2024 from a sudden illness. Carole was born Christmas Day in 1948. Her older siblings were “upset” that their mom had to leave on Christmas to have a baby. They later realized that a very special present was given that day. She was born in Salt Lake City, UT – the fifth daughter to Bill and Ellen Riches. At age 17, she left Utah to move to Southern California. This is where she graduated from High School in 1967 and in 1969, I was born. We moved to Cypress, and she later married Frank Ketterer. Our neighbors on Manila Drive in Cypress became life-long friends. My Mom and Frankie hosted parties, holiday celebrations at the house, and we often gathered at Eucalyptus Park for picnics. Later, my mom and I worked together at Colour Image. While at Colour Image we made more life long friends. She also met Tom during this time. Carole and Tom loved dancing and enjoyed many years together. While still living on Manila Drive, Carole’s house was where family and friends gathered for birthdays, holidays, more picnics and special occasions. She was a gracious hostess – always welcoming people into her home. Kyle was born in 2000. She loved being a grandma. In 2001 we all moved to St George. Jessie was born in 2002 and she loved being a grandma even more. Here in St George, Carole was fortunate to meet yet another group of friends – her bowling and Tripoli pals. Carole was kind, genuine, friendly and welcoming. She was always the hostess, peacemaker and best friend. Her favorite saying was “I love my little family.” However, she also loved her BIG family – all of you! She enjoyed sewing, canning and embroidery We volunteered at the high school where she was known as Grandma Grable. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Wilkinson, daughter Traci Ann Grable (Ben), grandson Kyle Grable (Aspen), granddaughter Jessica Ann Grable. Siblings Jean Becker, Dorothy Wagoner, Janet Atkinson (Roger), and Amy Mugavero, sister-in-law Tami Riches and brother-in-law Walt Parry, and many nieces and nephews. Also, her little doggie Daisy misses her. She is preceded in death by her sister Mary Parry, brother Jim Riches and brothers in law, Jack Becker, Keith Wagoner and Joe Mugavero. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Cottontown Village 25 N 300 W, Washington, Utah AT 11:00 a.m.
