Delia Jimenez Gamboa

Delia Jimenez Gamboa, passed away on October 5, 2024, in St. George Regional Medical Center. Delia was born on August 20, 1970, in Oaxaca, Mexico to Paula Jimenez Gamboa and Bartolo Adelfo Jimenez. Delia grew up in Oaxaca, Mexico where she attended school and had a good life with her siblings. At the age of fifteen, Delia graduated from 9th grade and that same year her family suffered a great loss that would change their lives. Her father passed away in an accident on September 23, 1985, leaving an immense void to her mother and siblings. With a great desire to overcome all challenges and better their lives, Ms. Paula, Delia’s mother and her siblings move to the city of Oaxaca. Delia, with great love and dedication for her family, starts to help her family financially by working during the day and attending school in the late afternoons, thus being able to graduate from high school. Following her dreams of self-improvement and spiritual growth, Delia decides to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1992-1994 in Torreón, Mexico. She was an excellent missionary. Life continued for Delia, and she kept fighting to accomplish her dreams. She made a tough decision that would dramatically change her family’s life. Delia left her birthplace and on June 24, 2006, left Oaxaca to travel to the United States of America to fulfill a promise made to her mother and siblings. On June 27, 2006, Delia arrived in St. George, Utah. Delia worked hard in this country for over 18 years. She overcame many obstacles with the help of friends, coworkers, brothers and sisters of her faith, and followed the ministry and passion of serving in her church. Delia, after much sacrifice and desire to go back home to her family, passed away on October 5, 2024, leaving an immense void to her family. You will always be in our hearts and minds, and will always be proud of your achievements, dreams and memories. Rest in peace Delia Jimenez Gamboa. Delia’s family would like to thank St. George Regional Medical Center and especially the Doctors and nurses who cared for Delia. They are also grateful to all her friends, co-workers and church friends from the 28th Spanish Ward.
