St George, Utah
Doyle Gubler Fuller was born on June 2nd, 1938 in La Verkin, UT to Luther Carlos and Rosalba Gubler Fuller. He grew up working hard in the orchards of his beloved southern Utah, and was molded and shaped by his family, including his loving, faithful uncles. His early years taught him to have a work ethic and love for the gospel that would be a key part of who he was and how he would serve the Lord and his family. In 1958, he was called to serve in the United States East Central States mission. Throughout his life, he had dreamt of a wedding picture of himself with a woman with no face. While serving as a missionary in Harlan, KY, he met Anna Sue Cain while teaching her family. When he dreamed again, the missing face was filled in and he knew the Lord had led him to his eternal companion. Once he completed his mission, they were married on September 1st, 1961. In 1963, Doyle graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Recreational Management and took a job with the Boy Scouts of America. Later, owned his own construction company and had a successful career with AT&T. During his life, his career and his desire to serve the Lord sent him to live in many places, including Utah, Nevada, Kentucky, Missouri, Colorado, and Georgia. During their married life, Doyle and Anna were blessed with five children who were the focus and pride of their lives and he took seriously the responsibility to teach them to work and to understand the gospel. He had a lifelong love of studying the scriptures, particularly his favorite prophet, Isaiah, and even wrote a book outlining his understanding of that prophet’s teachings. Anna appreciated Doyle’s steady nature and calm disposition. Doyle served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many different positions. Among his favorite assignments were serving with his beloved wife on Church missions in Moscow, Russia; Louisville, Kentucky; and Alberta, Canada. Doyle’s life was marked by a love for his family, working hard, gardening, carving, studying the scriptures, cars, building, singing, southern Utah, and above all, his wife Anna. He was a craftsman who always took joy in getting things done, and after the difficulties of old age he looked forward to passing to the other side where he could once again work in the service of the Lord. Doyle passed away on August 12th, 2026 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, his oldest brother H Dee Fuller and his half siblings Don Carlos, Pauline, and Norman Fuller. He is survived by his wife, Anna, and his children Raymond (Lori) Fuller of Washington, UT, Tina (Chris) of Rexburg, ID, Sherie (Derek) Christensen of Elk Ridge, UT, Brian (Stephanie) Fuller of Rexburg, ID, Jenny (Jeff) Compas of Santa Clara, UT, 24 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Vanda Wadsworth, Jane Topham, Ada Lu (Don) Hinton, Kevin (Cathy) Fuller and sister-in-law Carol Ann Fuller.
