Duane M. Schmidt

Duane M. Schmidt, 90, of St. George, Utah, passed away from natural causes on August 31, 2026. He was born on May 29,1936 in Utah to Theodore Schmidt and Charlotte Schmidt. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Duane married Patricia Schmidt in the L.D.S. Hawaiian Temple on January 20, 1960. He served in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller and ham radio operator. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in accounting. Duane was a Certified Public Accountant and worked as a partner at an accounting firm as well as a Controller for a private business. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying a game of golf. Duane was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his two daughters, Elva (David) and Allison; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister Genean Warner. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Charlotte Schmidt; his wife, Pat; his two sons, Glenn M. Schmidt and Benjamin D. Schmidt; and his two brothers, Dean and Kenneth Schmidt.
