Eleanor Grace Halstead

Eleanor Grace Halstead, 83, of Parowan, UT, was reunited with her husband Lester, her parents, siblings and her heavenly father on the October 23, 2015. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family. Grace was born on the January 27, 1932, in Yuba City, California to Edward Gage Minot Bradford and Ruth Stewart. Eleanor was orphaned at age 13 and separated from her siblings, she spent much of her life searching for them. This also led to a passion for genealogical work. She dedicated her life to genealogy. She submitted over 120,000 names of relatives to the church's family search website. On Sept. 25, 1949, Les and Eleanor went to Kingman, Ariz. to be witnesses at the wedding of Dave Cotton and Miss Pat Renfrow. Les and Grace had been engaged for nine months, and they decided to get married too. She was a loving mother of five boys. Her family was the joy of her life. Everything she did in life was for her family. She will be remembered for being extremely loving and kind and is already sorely missed. She attended a nursing school in Sandy, Utah, and became an LVN. She worked for over thirty years and was a charge nurse in a convalescent hospital in Long Beach, California. She was a faithful visiting teacher and was an ordinance worker in the L.A. temple for four years. She had lots of natural artistic ability and did many different crafts including: painting, scrap booking, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and photography. Les and Eleanor are the parents of Lester Mark Halstead Jr., Michael Lee Halstead, Edward Frank Halstead, Richard Paul Halstead, and Thomas Alexander Halstead. They have 35 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren (and three more on the way), and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Parowan 3rd Ward Chapel, 90 S. Main Street, Parowan, Utah. A viewing to be held Friday, October 30, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday prior to the service from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., both at the chapel. Interment will take place at the Parowan City Cemetery.
