Faith Maxine Blodgett

Cedar City, Utah - Faith Maxine Blodgett 22, passed away on January 1, 2025, in her home in Cedar City. She was born June 1, 2002, in Cedar City, Utah to Brent and Chantelle Blodgett. Faith was the first born in her family. As a baby the family moved to Las Vegas where her mother was activated in the national Guard and her father was a school teacher. The family then moved to Alton Utah and then Glendale Utah. During this time, she went to Valley Elementary school where she enjoyed many friends and teachers. She enjoyed being a big sister and was very excited for each new baby that joined. She was always telling others about the newest baby. She loved being with cousins and extended family. She loved watching movies, watching video games and eating pizza with family. She was the greatest cheerleader for her siblings and extended family and their accomplishments. When Faith was in 7th grade the family moved back to Cedar City where she enjoyed the young women program and going to the temple. She was a bright beacon to everyone she met. She enjoyed art and drawing and was involved in the community theater. In High school Faith was involved in theater where she made it to state drama for a Shakespear piece. She joined the swim team where she swam the backstroke, and the 50 free. She enjoyed being part of a 200 relay. She greeted everyone she knew and when she walked through the halls everybody said hello to her. It was evident that everyone at Cedar High loved her. She completed one year of college where she majored in theater at SUU. During this year she worked her job at Walmart. After her first year she started to work on mission papers. She didn’t get a mission call at this time as this was when she first received her leukemia diagnosis. During her time at Primary Children’s Hospital, she made friends with all the doctors and nurses and shared the gospel and how she wanted to serve a mission. She wrote and illustrated fan fiction stories for children in the hospital. She made and delivered Valentine and Halloween cards for the other patients. Faith was then called on a service mission, received her endowment, and bought her little blue car that she named “Ocean’. She drove around Cedar City to complete her duties at the Bishop’s storehouse, the temple, the family history center and at the Children’s Musical Theater. Her mission lasted 9 months before it was cut short by the return of cancer. In her return to Primary Children’s Hospital, she again spent many weeks and months receiving intensive chemotherapy. She reminded everybody daily when the next Mario, Sonic or Marvel movie would be released. In May of 2024 she underwent a bone marrow transplant, from which her sister Lucy was the donor. Faith returned home in September 2024 having done everything the doctors could possibly do for her. She received priesthood blessings often and offered sincere prayers for everyone around her. She remained strong until Christmas day. The next day she took a quick downward turn until she passed away on New Year’s Day. Her last words were that she “was going to beat this cancer.” She never gave up and was the prime example of Faith. She lived up to her name in every sense of the word. She is survived by her parents Brent and Chantelle, siblings- Brielle, Karlie, Ellie, Kurt, Lucy, Maribelle, Skylie, Liam and Zane. She is preceded in death by her sister Charity Ruth Blodgett. The family would like to thank the many Doctors and Nurses at Primary Childrens for their dedication and superb care during her treatment for Cancer over the last 3 years and the end-of-life care. Also, thanks to the Intermountain Homecare and Hospice company for their support and care through the years, especially the end-of-life care. Also, a special thank you to the friends, family and ward members for their love, support and prayers over the years of her journey. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar City 8th Ward Chapel located at 725 S 1100 W Cedar City, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services on Friday January 10, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be held at Cedar City Cemetery.
