Florence Rose DiBari Orlando

Hurricane, UT - Florence Rose DiBari Orlando, 86, passed away on December 18, 2016, in Hurricane, Utah. She was born in Peekskill, New York on January 18, 1931, to Joseph Guilio DiBari and Rosa Cirillo DiBari. She married Leonard Morgan Jessup in September 1951, and had two children, Lyn Jessup Pratt and Lenny Jessup; that marriage ended in divorce. On August 12, 1962, she married Rocco Orlando, who died March 21, 1995. Florence’s mother died when she was six years old. She was the baby in the family of six children. When her mother died, the children were put into St. Joseph’s orphanage in Peekskill, NY. Florence had a really hard childhood but never used that as an excuse for any short comings. She sold furniture for many years at Macy’s in White Plains, New York and was quite successful. She retired in 1999 and moved to Hurricane, Utah. When she moved here, she had a hard time adjusting to the culture and missed her family and friends in New York. She always bragged that she was the only one in the family that wasn’t Mormon! She started going to Senior Citizen dances where she met her fiancé, Ivan Welker. Ivan has been there for her for over 15 years and she loved him very much. She joined Prime Time Performers under the direction of Ilene Hacker. Florence loved to dance and be in the spotlight, she was a real ham. She also danced with the Sassy Seniors under the direction of Bobby Andrews, where she did a solo mime song and dance to “Second Hand Rose”. They performed at the local rest homes and senior citizen centers. Florence is survived by her daughter-Lyn Pratt (Gerold), son-Leonard Jessup, AZ. Grandchildren-Heather Beatty (Zak), Ryan Hutchings (Kristine), Lindsey Johnson (Edwin), Tanner Jessup, AZ. Great grandchildren-Rocky Beatty (Paige), Shelby Beatty, Treydan Beatty, Kael Beatty, Abby Beatty, Brendan Hutchings, Carter Hutchings, Jace Hutchings, Frankie Johnson, Tanner Jessup, AZ. Her brother Dominick DiBari (Mariam) NY. Special friend/companion, Ivan Welker. She was preceded in death by: Rocco Orlando (husband), Angie Dasecke, Louise Milliken (sisters), Frank Dibari (brother), her parents, grandson, Michael Hutchings and many very dear friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 28th at the Hurricane West Stake Center, 272 S 700 W, Hurricane, UT. Viewing 9:00-10:45 a.m. funeral at 11:00 a.m. Interment at the Hurricane City cemetery.
