St. George, Utah
Glen was born to Preston Arnold Kane and Mildred Elma Read in Boise, Idaho, 25 August 1928. He died 17 August 2026 at the Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, Utah. Glen was the sixth of eleven children born to Bill and Mildred Kane. He graduated from Boise High School in 1946. Soon after that he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve his country in WW II, but by the time he finished boot camp war was over. He was honorably discharged with the provision that the Corps reserved the right to recall him to active duty, for ten years, should the U.S. become involved in another military campaign. It didn’t take long as he was recalled in 1950 to serve in the Korean conflict. In March of 1951 he was wounded in action, shot in the left forearm and returned to the states with a medical discharge. Dad was very proud of his military service. In May of 1952 Glen married Treba Lee “Terry” Carney, who had two daughters, Sharon and Jan. Together, they had four children, David, Danny, Tim and Tina. With the help of the G.I. Bill, Glen graduated from Idaho State University, with a degree in pharmacy and began work as a pharmacist. Over the years he worked in Boise, Idaho; Payette, Idaho; Salem, Oregon; and purchased his own drug store in Nyssa, Oregon in 1967. He and Terry were divorced the next year. In 1975 he married Marjorie “Ann” Vaughan, who had an adult daughter, Holly Cushman. In 1977, Glen purchased another drug store in Burley, Idaho and he and Ann moved there. When he retired, around 1995, he and Ann moved to Beaver Dam, Arizona. Glen was preceded in death by his son, Danny, and by his wife, Ann. He is survived by his sister, Mary, and his brother, Grant, and by his children, David, Tim and Tina, and by Ann’s daughter, Holly. Also, he is survived by 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
