Joleen Anna Grant Meredith Obituary (2026)

We are mourning the loss of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Joleen Anna Grant Meredith who passed away in St. George with her husband by her side July 17, 2026. Joleen is survived by her husband of 72 years, Gary Edward Meredith, and her children Lisa Cannon, Steven Meredith, Susan Hinckley, and Joanna White. She was the mother of 4, grandmother of 14, and great-grandmother of 31. In addition to her career in the hotel industry, Joleen was a tireless mental health advocate, serving for many years on the Governor’s board of mental health and substance abuse. She also devoted much of her personal time to helping individuals navigate mental health challenges and connect with supportive resources. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many capacities on ward and stake levels, as well as on the Young Women’s General Board. She’ll be remembered for her musical contributions as the composer of the hymn Where Can I Turn for Peace, as well as songs for the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary. She also wrote a long-running monthly feature for the Church’s Friend magazine. Joleen loved travel, movies, ice cream, home decor, her family, her pets, and chronicling it all in an extensive collection of scrapbooks spanning decades. Everyone who knew her would undoubtedly agree—Joleen leaves a hole that can never be filled. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sterling Court in St. George and Enhabit Home Health & Hospice.
