Leah Alani Asch

Leah Alani Asch, 70, of Saint George, Utah, passed away on January 20, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Leah was born on January 23, 1954, in Long Beach, California, to her adoring parents Roy and Margaret Elwell. She was the cherished sister, daughter, and friend, whose kind heart and giving spirit touched everyone who knew her. Leah married the love of her life, Darrell Asch, on November 16, 2002, in Laughlin, Nevada. Together, they shared a deep bond built on love, laughter, and adventure. In 2004, they made the decision to retire in Saint George, Utah, where they created a warm and welcoming home filled with joy, family gatherings, and shared memories. Leah earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Vanguard University, a testament to her commitment and dedication. Her personal passions included spending time with her family and friends, shopping, and indulging in her love for reading. She was an avid traveler, always seeking new experiences with Darrell. Their adventures took them to countless places, where they made lasting memories together. Leah’s family was everything to her. She is survived by her beloved husband Darrell, son Jonathan and his wife Amber, stepdaughter Kelly, stepson Jason, her adoring grandchildren, Dean, Jacob, Logan, Emily, Makenna, Avery and her brother Michael. She was a doting mom and nana (or Mema as she lovingly called herself), always prioritizing her loved ones with her selflessness and warm spirit. Leah will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness, and her loving nature that made her a beloved wife, mother, nana, and friend. She was a source of strength, comfort, and unconditional love to her family and friends, always there with a listening ear, an open heart, and a bright smile. Leah’s legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to those she cared about will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences they have received during this difficult time. A celebration of Leah’s life will be held in the coming months to honor her memory and the incredible impact she had on the lives of so many.
