Marian Laree Kolby Rossiter October 26, 1936-June 4, 2015 Marian Laree Kolby Rossiter, Our most precious and beloved eternal bride, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister peacefully passed on from this life into the next to eternal glory on Jun 4, 2015. Our Beloved Savior, and a multitude of loved ones and friends who have gone before are now welcoming her home. Each of us who have been touched by her will forever treasure the countless blessings and priceless experiences this daughter of God has gifted to us during her tenure on earth. Marian was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lauritz A. and Katherine Jespersen Kolby. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School. During her teen and pre-teen years, she loved hiking, camping, skiing and participating in school activities including theater productions. She attended The University of Utah, where she met her eternal companion, Lynn William Rossiter. They were married March 22, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. Marian and her husband have basked in the celestial light of a “marriage made in Heaven”. From the day of their betrothal to present. Lynn has and will continue forever to refer to her as his “eternal bride”. Marian was adored and loved by her entire family of five children, 16 grand children and 11 great grandchildren. She spent her entire life; serving others in radiating love, joy and happiness to everyone she knew or met and was a great influence for good in innumerable lives. A portion of this was her service helping to shape the lives of young women when she served as a camp counselor at a church girls camp in Brighton, Utah and also serving as the mother of the ward during the period that her husband was a bishop as BYUI in Rexburg, Idaho. She had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was active, through out her life, serving in teaching and leadership positions in several church organizations. She loved her service as a temple worker and trainer in the Idaho Falls Temple. She also served many years as a volunteer caseworker in the LDS Social Services Organization. One of the highlights of her life was serving a church mission with her husband in Nauvoo, Illinois. Music was a great blessing and gift in her life. She spent many joyful years singing in quartets, the “Sounds Choir”, and other musical groups. Highlights of her performances include singing in the Mormon Tabernacle and in St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. Most of her married life was enjoyed living in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The past two years she mainly resided in their second home in St. George, Utah. Marian is survived by: her husband (Lynn), four of her five children, Steven (Michele), Lynda (William) Davis, David (Eldonna), Sue (David) Ward, her sister Elaine (Tom) Daniels, and a brother Larry (Jerrianne) Kolby. She was preceded in death by: her son (Jerry), parents (Lauritz and Katherine Kolby), sister Florence (Ross) Watson and a great grandson, Ammon Suitter. A viewing will be held in St. George, Utah, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the LDS Red Cliffs 5th Ward, located at 1285 North Bluff Street. Funeral services will be held in Ammon, Idaho at the Ammon 8th Ward Chapel on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM located at 2055 South Ammon Road, Ammon Idaho. Friends and family may visit the family the evening before from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and one hour before the funeral. Interment will be at the Ammon, Idaho Cemetery.
