Pamela Jeanne Palmer

Pamela Jeanne Sessions Palmer, of Santa Clara, Utah, age 66, passed away on March 13, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Pam was born on January 25, 1948 in Ogden, Utah to Eldred Steed Sessions and Shirley Jeanne Craycroft. Pam grew up around the world due to her father’s military career. She married Stephen Thadius Palmer on August 7, 1971 in Fairfax, Virginia. She worked for Fairfax County Public School system for over 23 years, influencing many with her ready smile, hard work, and dedication. Second to motherhood, education was a priority. Late in life, Pam finished her schooling and received a degree in Sociology. After retirement, she joined her best friend and mother, Shirley, in Santa Clara, rapidly making many friends. Mom was known for her endearing personality, jovial manner, and welcoming arms. Among her many interests, Mom enjoyed swimming, crocheting, sewing, reading, and movies. And above all, Pam loved her children and grandchildren, sacrificing herself completely for their joy and care. Pam is survived by: her children, Thad Palmer, Aaron Palmer, Beth Montour, Nancy Palmer de Sánchez, Ben Palmer, Andrew Palmer, Victoria Smallwood, and Rachel Zambrano; her loving mother and four siblings; She is grandmother to 22 living grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Stephen Palmer; her father, Eldred Sessions; and step-father, Reed A. Haslam. Our mom was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara 3rd Ward Chapel, 3040 W. Santa Clara Dr., Santa Clara, UT. A visitation will take place on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 on Wednesday. Interment will take place Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 12:00 noon at the Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park in Ogden, UT. Pam is a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and daughter of God. We will continually feel her loss, but take comfort in knowing we will be reunited eternally.
