Patricia "Patsy" Hansen Lamb

Patricia (Patsy) Joan Hansen Lamb was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada August 8, 1945, to Leslie N. and Margaret LeBaron Hansen. She passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2026. Patsy lived with her family in Calgary and Cardston, Alberta, until her mother passed away. Their dad found it impossible to care for his two youngest daughters properly, so he took Patsy and her sister, Judie, to Hurricane, Utah, to live with their oldest sister, Thelma, and her husband, Roland, when Patsy was eight and Judie was 12. That was a great blessing. Patsy was the youngest of five daughters, Thelma, Jalaine, Lorna, and Judie. Even though her mother was taken from her early in life, she was blessed with a great deal of love and mothering from her older sisters and other friends and relatives. Patsy graduated from Hurricane High School in 1963 and Dixie Junior College in 1965. She married Thomas B. Lamb in the St. George Utah Temple on June 30, 1978. Patsy had three children from a previous marriage: Gregory, Michael, and Laura. Lucinda (Cindy) Jane was born one year after their marriage and was a sweet addition to their young, active family. Tom and Patsy were busy and served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Patsy supported Tom as he served as bishop and stake president, and later they served together as directors of the Southern Utah Public Affairs Council for 11 years. That was one of Patsy’s favorite callings in the church, along with teaching the youth in Sunday School for six years and serving in the St. George Temple. A special thank you to all her Sunday School “kids” for their tribute letters. They meant the world to her. God, family, and friends are what made life worthwhile for Patsy. She was a dedicated mother. Each baby she was able to bring to this earth was a miracle. All she ever wanted was to be a mother. She adores her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and thanks her children for each gift. She has so much love for her husband of 47 years and knows that it was a tender mercy from God that they met, married, and raised their family together. Patsy is preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters: Thelma (Roland) Hall and Lorna (Elmer) Giggey. She is survived by her loving husband, Tom, and children: Cindy (Ryan) Hatch (Clay (Sasha), Liv, and Lily Jane) of St. George, Utah; Laura (Bryan) Walker (Taylor, Tanner, Blake, and Lila) of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Michael (Elona) Van Wagenen (Simon), Albuquerque, New Mexico; granddaughter Sjandi (Michael) Marshall (Zoey and Miles), Macungie, Pennsylvania; siblings: Jalaine Hansen, Draper, Utah; Judie (Ed) Brailsford-Marcucci, Aurora, Colorado; Glenda (Ron) Crapo, Draper, Utah; stepmother, Rawlene Hansen, and brother Mathew Hansen, Washington, Utah, and many beloved nieces and nephews, in addition to “forever friends,” and they know who they are. Patsy has a living testimony of her Heavenly Father, Savior, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. She is so grateful to her sweetheart, Tom, and Cindy, Ryan, and Lily Hatch for their devoted love and care. She is grateful for Robyn Packer for her continued love and watchful care over our family. She thanks Jennifer Ricketts, Kurtis Larson, Todd May, Kent and Lynne Perkins, Brad and Gay Newby, Linda Neumann, Debbie Huckstep, and all her loving neighbors for their kindness and support. Patsy and her family will be forever grateful to Dixie Hospice and Patsy’s devoted nurse, Dabrei. Patsy put on countless events in her lifetime - dinners, parties, concerts, conferences, reunions, lessons, talks, fund raisers, political rallies, road shows, and other theatrical productions. She was blessed with loving community, church, and family support for everything she did. She loved and lived life to the fullest, and she felt the loving support of her family and friends one hundredfold. With that said, Patsy feels she would like to break tradition and let her family find quiet closure with her passing. There will be no public viewing or service. Thank you for your kindness, love, and understanding. Patsy spent her life serving and thinking of others. In lieu of flowers, please do a kind act of service in Patsy's honor.
