Shawn Scott Seiler

St. George, Utah — On September 13, 2026, the world lost a great adventurer, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man who found his greatest happiness surrounded by the people and places he loved. Shawn “Scott” Seiler passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and by love. Scott was born on March 4, 1957, to Phillis and Richard Seiler. He grew up alongside his brothers, Rick and Rockne, and his sister, Minda. Some of his happiest childhood memories were made around Wayne Lakes, Ohio, where Scott and his siblings and friends spent their days exploring the outdoors, creating their own adventures, and getting into just enough mischief to make for great stories later in life. That love of adventure never left him. Scott was happiest outdoors. He loved his hideaway in the woods, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, working on his cabin, and simply enjoying the beauty and freedom of nature. Whether surrounded by the woods, mountains, or sea breezes, Scott appreciated the simple things in life—the kind of things that become some of our most treasured memories. But the greatest love of Scott’s life was his wife, Wendy Kay Seiler. Scott and Wendy began their life together in 2011, and from there grew a love and partnership that became one of the most important parts of his life. They moved together to St. George, Utah, in 2016 and married in 2018. Theirs was truly a great love story. Wendy was his beautiful bride, his partner, his companion, and the person with whom he chose to share his adventures and his life. In the end, Scott was where he belonged—at home, surrounded by Wendy and the family he loved so deeply. Scott graduated from Greenville High School and went on to build a career that took him on adventures of its own. He moved to Utah with Hobart Corporation to help establish a commercial dishwasher production line. He later joined Thiokol Manufacturing in inventory control, where his work contributed to the development of components for the Space Shuttle program. Scott eventually accepted a position with Aero Trans Corporation as Director of Operations and later worked with monorail systems. Scott eventually retired from NASG leaving a legacy of leadership everywhere he worked. Through the years, Scott enjoyed the outdoor life of Utah, the sea breezes of Florida, and ultimately returned to St. George, where he retired and made his home with Wendy. Scott leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and who will carry his stories, humor, strength, and adventurous spirit with them always. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy Seiler; his brother, Rick; his daughters, Elysha Larsen and Shanna Richardson; and his stepsons, Gabriel and Garrett Scarborough. He also leaves behind eight granddaughters—Megahn, Sky, Erin, Paulina, Kotie, Kelsie, Cash, and Blake. With daughters and granddaughters filling his life, Scott certainly knew a thing or two about being surrounded by strong women—and he loved them deeply. Last, Scott left behind his favorite fury companion who was never far from his side, Rages otherwise known as “Tinky” We like to imagine that Scott is now reunited with his mother and father, his brother Rockne, and his sister Minda, once again enjoying the view from Wayne Lakes, where so many of his adventures began. Scott asked to leave this world much the way he lived in it—quietly and without fuss. He will be cremated and remain close to his family. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on September 16, 2026, at the home he shared with Wendy. It will be a time to remember a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was filled with adventure, hard work, laughter, family, and above all, love. Scott’s adventures took him many places, but home was always wherever the people he loved were. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
