Terry Richard Boyd

Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather peacefully passed away surrounded in love by his family, from a long struggle with Parkinson's and Dementia on October 22, 2023, at the Southern Utah Veterans home in Ivins, Utah. Terry was born on January 5, 1934, in Los Angeles, CA to Richard Benton Boyd and Rose Leon Boyd. Terry grew up in Los Angeles where he went to High School & College. He enlisted in the US Navy where he served four years and four more years in the reserve. Terry worked at Beckman Instruments and later worked at The Redwoods which employed handicapped individuals which he managed and mentored. His favorite passion was being a Scout Master. Terry married and had three sons, later divorced and remarried Patty and together they raised his three sons. All three sons later went on LDS missions. Terry, his wife and two sons moved to SLC, UT for work, later divorced, and met the love of his life Joan Carlson Boyd, they were married for 32 years. Terry and Joan moved to Hurricane, UT together, where they loved to play golf, and card games with family and friends. Terry worked at Walmart for ten years before he had to retire for health reasons. Terry is survived by his wife Joan. His children Daryl (Debbie), Doug (Petrice), Dennis (Dinah), 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Stepchildren Rona (John), Cory (Stacey), 7 step grandchildren and 7 step great- grandchildren. Sisters Jerri, Kathy and Brother Mike. Preceded in death by his Father Richard Benton Boyd, Mother Rose Mogler, Stepfather Al Mogler, Brother Dick Boyd (Dru). Stepdaughter Tiffany (Chris) We would like to thank the Nurses and CNAs of Southern Utah Veterans home for the special care he received., Also for the Dixie hospice care he received in his last days of life. A celebration of life will be held on November 24, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the gazebo in the Tonaquint Cemetery 1777 S Dixie Drive, St George, UT. Military Honors provided by American Legion.
